Fashion In Films Review Sissyville Assignment
Reviewed by Miss Vivian
With Rock Hudson, Doris Day, and Tony Randall this 1959 movie centers on the frustrations that ensue, when a man and woman share a party line telephone. Miss Day, an interior designer in the movie is costumed in perfectly cut suits, that shows off her tiny frame.
Skirts to the knee with matching over coats were everywhere in the movie, and as society and the fashions of the time expected, gloves and hats completed the 1950’s career girl look.
Designer Jen Louis, took our business gal from day to night, in a most amazing collection eveningwear. My favorite by far is an empire- waisted white full-length gown she wears to a Supper Club.

With minimal accessories, the over-the-elbow gloves, she is a picture of easy sophistication of the end of an era and emergence of a new kind of Woman, one who is in control.
Bright colors, happy music and the obligatory happy ending – make Pillow Talk a perfect Sunday afternoon movie- for the girl in all of us.
